The C-Edu Education Cluster initiates a project to promote contemporary literature in the public space, offered to all Cluj residents and those visiting Cluj this year.
By placing plaques with quotes from the work of the poet Lucian Blaga, passers-by through the "Simion Bărnutiu" Central Park will be able to enjoy a moment of reflection and remember famous lines of the Transylvanian writer.
The pilot project was proposed by the General School Inspector Marinela Marc - member of the Board of Directors of C-Edu - and implemented with the support of UTCN students, who ensured the design and production of the inscriptions.
Starting on June 3, 2021, visitors to Simion Bărnutiu Central Park will find plaques with Lucian Blaga's lyrics on 10 benches. The main activity of the project took place in May 2021 – informally known as Blaga month. On the 3rd, members of the Cluster gathered in the Central Park to complete the project and inaugurate the plaques, so that the rest of the community can enjoy them.
"May is in Cluj-Napoca, without a doubt, the month in which we pay tribute, through various activities, to the personality of Lucian Blaga, poet, philosopher, essayist, playwright, diplomat, whose work constitutes a personal synthesis of great originality, of deep national inspiration . His name is linked to our city, since, after a period of almost seven years in diplomacy, he became a professor at the University of Cluj-Napoca, where the Philosophy of Culture chair was created especially for him. We really wanted the pupils and students of Cluj, but also the other inhabitants of
the municipality or the tourists to remember, in moments of respite in the Central Park, a few fragments of the overwhelming work left to us by Lucian Blaga" declared the initiator of the project, General school inspector ISJ Cluj Marinela Marc, founding member of C-Edu.
