The Cluster of Education C-EDU organizes "StartupCity Cluj-Napoca Days", as an umbrella event for a series of events, focused on youth and innovation, between May 18-20.

Innowave Summit 2022 – 19-20 May | Grand Hotel Italia
Together with the Bulgarian Business Forum, the Education Cluster implements the Global StartupCities Initiative locally, in this context it organizes the Innowave Summit for the first time in Cluj-Napoca, with the support of the Cluj-Napoca and Varna Municipalities. Innowave Summit, a brand of Varna origin, aims to digitize private and public sectors, improve digital transformation and transfer best practices in Central and Eastern European countries, while also focusing on innovation in education.

"The vision of Innowave 2022 is to unite Europe's digital leaders and increase the capacity of innovation ecosystems."

The collaboration of the two cities is all the more important in the context of the European Year of Youth as it highlights how two cities can collaborate in bringing education and youth to the next level. The event will have international visibility and among other representatives of local, national and international European authorities, the European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Mariya Gabriel, will participate, together with the President of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR), Apostolos Tzitzikostas.

Startup World Cup – May 19 | Grand Hotel Italia
One of the events associated with the Innowave Summit is the Startup World Cup Regional Event in Romania. For the first time, the Startup World Cup regional competition is organized in our country. The winner will have the chance to compete with the world's best startups for the $1,000,000 prize in San Francisco.

At the beginning of 2020, the Romanian National Agency became the new member of the Europe Goes Local (ELG) family. The fourth ELG European Event will take place in Cluj-Napoca, hosted by the Romanian National Agency.

Dialogue with citizens – 19 May 16:30 | Casino Center of Urban Culture in the Central Park

Co-organized by the European Committee of the Regions and the Municipality of Cluj-Napoca on the theme "Europe begins in Transylvania: democracy, education and youth." What comes after the Conference on the Future of Europe?". The event aims to debate the conclusions of the Conference for the Future of Europe and involve the local ecosystem in shaping the future of the city.

Women in Tech – May 20 | Grand Hotel Italia
Another event associated with the Innowave Summit is "Women in Tech", co-organized by the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and the Romanian Digitization Authority. The event will start with a panel in the Innowave Summit (Business Hall 9:00-10:30), and will continue in parallel with the Summit.
